Welcome to Woodrose Restaurant & Tea Garden

Woodrose Restaurant and Tea Garden is nesstled in the beautiful gardens of Mount Ephraim with its magnificent manicured gardens and rolling countryside beyond.  Our restaurant and Tea Garden is part of this magnificent setting. Situated in the former servants' quarters in the left wing of the grand house, the restaurant also benefits from outside seating on the tierd terrace.

Our tea garden overlooking the topiary and rose garden beyond and surrounded by mature magnolia trees, is a delight.

If you are seeking the perfect setting to enjoy a relaxed lunch, afternoon tea or summer's evening, whilst sipping wine on the terrace overlooking stunning gardens watching the sunset, Woodrose Restaurant is the ideal venue.

Woodrose Restaurant is made up of three distinct rooms, offering seating for up to 50 inside, with additional seating for around 50 outside on the terrace.

The old Edwardian Kitchen is a delightful room full of character with a high ceiling, tiled walls and two large windows overlooking the gardens. The old cooking range dates back to 1913 and can been seen working on cooler days offering a warm cosy fire to sit beside.

The Courtney room is a large open space to the right of the main entrance hall, this is a calm room adorned with old paintings steeped in history, and stories of Old Tom Courtney and the Courtney Riots.

The third room at the restaurant is known as the Old Office and is now the location of our new Gift Shop.

The charming Terraced Tea Garden, overlooking the topiary and rose garden beyond is the perfect setting to eat alfresco, meet with friends or family and relax in the Kentish sunshine.

At Woodrose we offer a Traditional English Menu comprising of lunches and afternoon teas that include salads, quiches, fresh sandwiches, delicious homemade cakes as well as cream teas and high teas. Ask your waitress about out hot meal of the day!

Fresh fruits including strawberries, cherries, plums, and apples are picked daily from the Mount Ephraim gardens, and served on our menu with fresh and clotted creams.   A wide selection of hot and cold drinks are available including Local and international wines and ales.  We pride ourselves on making our food fresh to order, this takes a little time to prepare, but is worth the wait, so relax sit back and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. All our ingredients are sourced locally, wherever possible, to ensure the highest quality and freshness.
